I can just play a C Major chord and hold it for 10 seconds, and there's a better-than-average chance it'll crackle and pop on me. I've done something similar plenty of times, and it seems like I've occasionally had pop/crackle issues, but it seems especially bad this time around for some reason. I have some "Source" patches with all the "Real" instruments in them, and then I just basically have a list of patches in show order with aliases all arranged in the layers/splits/etc that the show calls for. I'm using mostly the built-in Logic sounds, though I'm also using Native Instruments Session Strings and some SF2 soundfonts via sforzando SFZ player plugin. Simply playing the files in isolation may be enough. Try to spend some time on every loop you use to ensure playback is 100 smooth. The accuracy of audio editing in most DAWs is so good these days there is pretty much no excuse to let this one slip through the net. Apple TV has clicking/popping sound while using Dolby Atmos. An audio interface will also take strain off your computer. This only seems to occur on some systems, and a current solution is to use an audio interface as the output device. There is currently a bug in MainStage that causes popping or cracking types of sounds to occur when using the built-in output as the audio output device in MainStage.
